Day 1 : Arrival day (Stay at Tonglu) Small 5km trek from Dhotrey.
Arrive at Bagdogra airport or NJP railway station in the morning (on your own). 500miles will arrange for pickup and drop at Dhotrey. And a small 5km trek through tonglu forest trail and reach Tonglu trekkers hut, where we’ll gather for an orientation.
Day 2 : Tonglu to Kalipokhri (Via Tumling & Goiribas).
Wake up early morning to view an amazing sunrise above the peaks of the Kangchenjunga range. Walk through the Singalila national park where have a chance to see Red pandas. Also according to forest officials, there are more than 600 varieties of orchids in the forest, which explains the heady fragrance that hangs in the air. And between March and early April the rhododendrons and magnolias bloom, turning the forest a riot of colours. Camp overnight at Kalipokhri, which is exactly on the India-Nepal border.
Day 3 [Mar 25]: Kalapokhri to Sandakhphu.
Explore Kalapokhri lake at the morning, and a 7km trek which will take approximately 5-5hrs to reach Sandakhphu via Bikheybhanjang (Valley of Poison) en route. It gets its name from a poisonous aconite plant which grows in abundance here.
Day 4 : Sandakhphu to Phalut.
Enjoy a 180-degree panoramic view of the Himalayan peaks from here. You will be able to see Makalu, Lhotse, Everest, Nuptse, Baruntse, Chamling, Chomolonzo, Machapucchare and other peaks of the Annapurna range spread on towards the west. Three sister peaks stand tall towards the north and then of course, the Sleeping Buddha lies before you.Towards the east, you see the highest ranges of Bhutan – Chomolhari which rises above of all other peaks around it. Most importantly we’ll have 21km trek
Day 5 : Phalut to Njp.
Finally, you will be at the last leg of this astounding trek. Today morning, take a drive through the winding roads and get transferred to New Jalpaiguri, arriving where, this Sandakphu trek will come to an end.
